NYCRUNS.COM hit the internet running on Labor Day 2009 with the goal of providing world class online resources to New York area runners - specifically a thorough area race calendar, tools to find running groups and partners and quality locally sourced news and articles about the sport. Today NYCRUNS has grown to over 3,000 registered users and reaches an estimated 15,000 area runners monthly through the website, mailing lists, facebook, twitter, widgets and other efforts. In late 2010, NYCRUNS took the next logical step in it's development and began offering race registration services with the goal of providing a service of maximum value to both runners and race directors. NYCRUNS no fee race registration is customer service oriented and intended to turn a typically onerous process into a service that is a benefit to all concerned. In early 2011, the calendar will be launched as a facebook and iPhone application and the website community is being better positioned to leverage our community's interest in social media, specifically Facebook. New York City Runs is the parent company of NYCRUNS and provides technology and marketing solutions to running interests. It is owned and operated by Steven Lastoe. Clients of his and New York City Runs include New York Road Runners, U.S. Road Sports & Entertainment (13.1), Competitor Group, Merill and many others. Finally (as if that wasn't enough), in 2011 Steven Lastoe, the owner of New York City Runs, also created the Non-Profit Brooklyn Marathon Corporation whose sole goal is to bring a 1st class marathon to the borough of Brooklyn, no later than Spring 2012.
